Solar panels are a long-term investment in your home. With the right system installed, you can generate electricity during the day, lower your dependence on imported energy, and take advantage of Ireland’s solar potential throughout the year.
Why Install Solar Panels in Ireland?
Many people are surprised by how well solar panels work in Ireland. Solar PV systems do not need constant direct sunshine to generate electricity. They generate power from daylight, which means they can still perform well even during cloudy Irish weather.
During the brighter months, solar panels can produce a strong amount of electricity for your home. This makes spring and summer one of the best times to install solar, as you can start generating power and building up savings before the colder months arrive.
A solar PV system can help you:
Reduce electricity bills
Generate your own renewable energy
Improve your home’s energy efficiency
Lower your carbon footprint
Increase your protection against rising energy prices
Support a cleaner future
Make better use of daytime electricity
Prepare your home for battery storage, EV charging, or heat pump usage
For many homes, solar panels are no longer just an environmental choice. They are also a smart financial decision.
Solar Panels for Homes with Heat Pumps
If your home has a heat pump or you are planning to install one, a properly sized solar PV system can be especially beneficial. Heat pumps can increase electricity usage, particularly during colder months, so it is important to design a solar system that matches your home’s energy needs.
At RJC Renewables, we can review your usage and advise whether a larger system, such as a 20-panel solar PV setup, would be more suitable for your property. A well-designed solar system can help support your heat pump, reduce running costs, and improve the overall efficiency of your home.
Battery Storage and Solar Energy
Battery storage is another popular option for homeowners who want to get more from their solar panels. A solar battery allows you to store excess electricity generated during the day and use it later in the evening or at night.
This can be especially useful for families who are out during the day but use more electricity in the evening. Instead of sending unused energy back to the grid, you can store it and use more of your own solar power at home.
RJC Renewables can advise on battery installation options and help you decide whether battery storage is suitable for your home.
